What to Pack for an Extended Stay in Dublin

City Break Apartments
Packing for a month in Dublin? What to bring, what to leave behind, and what our apartments already provide. Tips from long-stay guests.
Packing for a two-week or month-long stay in Dublin is different from a holiday. You're setting up a temporary home, not cramming everything into a weekend bag. Here's what experienced long-stay guests swear by.
Layers, always layers
Dublin weather is famously changeable. The answer isn't a heavy coat. It's good layering. A waterproof outer layer, a couple of mid-layers, and some merino wool base layers will handle everything the Irish climate throws at you without overfilling your bag.
Leave the toiletries at home
Our apartments are fully stocked with essentials, and every Boots, Dunnes, and SuperValu will have what you need within walking distance. Save the bag weight.
Bring your own coffee ritual
If your morning coffee is important to you, pack your preferred beans. The apartment kitchen has everything else: grinder, cafetière, kettle. Your specific beans may not be on every Dublin shelf.
Comfortable shoes are non-negotiable
Dublin is a walking city. Whatever you think is adequate footwear, add another comfortable pair. The cobblestones of Temple Bar look charming; they feel less charming after three hours.
A power strip
If you're working remotely and have multiple devices, a small power strip saves the desk-side juggling act.
What you don't need to pack
Towels, bedding, kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, an iron, a hairdryer, all provided. Our apartments are genuinely fully equipped. Travel light.
